Setup and Use the Braille Keyboard for TalkBack on Android
Learn how to setup and use the TalkBack Braille Keyboard on your Android device.
Setup
Open the TalkBack Settings through the TalkBack Menu
- Open Settings
- Scroll down and tap Accessibility
- Tap TalkBack
- Tap Settings
- Under the Braille section, tap Braille Keyboard
- Tap Setup the Braille Keyboard
- Tap Settings on the pop-
- Enable TalkBack Braille Keyboard
Customize the Braille Keyboard such as language, Braille Grade level, and Layout in the Braille Keyboard settings page.
Use
- When editing a textfield and the keyboard is visible, tap the globe or the miniature keyboard icon in the bottom right corner of the screen to switch keyboards.
- On a phone, turn it into landscape mode and set it down in front of you to use it in Tabletop Mode or hold it with the screen away and type braille in Screen Away Mode. On a tablet, you can type braille chords in portrait mode as well.
You cannot enter and use the Braille Keyboard unless TalkBack is enabled.

Return | Swipe right with two fingers |
Submit | Swipe up with two fingers |
Exit | Swipe down with two fingers |
Switch to Next Keyboard | Swipe down with three fingers |
